I broke my glasses and I couldn't see the dial on the thermostat.

There is nothing worse than breaking your glasses and not seeing the dial on the thermostat.

My husband was constantly telling me we needed a digital thermostat, but I liked my old thermostat.

He worried because I was going blind and I often set my glasses down and couldn’t find them. He said if we got a digital thermostat, we could get a smart thermostat. We could go on the computer and adjust the temperature instead of worrying about trying to see the screen on the thermostat. I liked the idea, but I was stubborn. I didn’t like not being able to see, and I was vain enough to not admit it to anyone. When I dropped my glasses, I couldn’t see well enough to find them, and I ended up stepping on them. I had to call my husband and tell him it was getting cold in the house. I had tried to turn up the heat, but I must have been turning it down. I told him I stepped on my glasses and I couldn’t find my old ones. He said he would be home in less than an hour, but I didn’t know what time it was and I didn’t want him to leave work early. I made my way to my phone and dialed speed dial ‘1’, which was my neighbor. Two minutes later, she was at the house with me, and I had her call my husband back. She helped me find my old glasses and reset the thermostat for me. When my husband got home, he said the HVAC technician would be there the next day to install a new Smart Thermostat with large numerical readout, and he would put the program on his phone.
