Being the new owner of a smart thermostat can be a learning experience and maybe even a little tough if you are older and are used to the old heating and air conditioning technology.
This was the case for me.
When I bought my new smart thermostat I had so many issues figuring the thing out. And it was just recently that I discovered that a smart thermostat runs on regular batteries! I kept getting this warning message on the digital display that said the battery was low. I was trying to figure out what kind of battery I needed to buy for the smart thermostat. I could find no information whatsoever so I was starting to get a little nervous. This was when I decided to call the local heating and air conditioning company that I deal with to see if one of their certified heat and a/c specialists could tell me what I needed. They just laughed at me for the middle aged dude that I am and simply told me that regular double A batteries from the store was all I needed! I really could not believe it was that simple. No wonder I could find no information on it on the internet! I thanked them for the information and explained that I am not young, and then I went to the store to buy the batteries for my smart thermostat. I popped the old ones out and these with ease just like a TV remote control. It worked that simple. I had no more issues.
