I will say that I feel that the heating we had way back when was better than the heating we have now.
This is just my opinion of course. But I preferred the hot water boilers, the steam boilers, the furnaces that were electric and the gas furnaces. Central heating to me just doesn’t do it. I feel that central heating is just too dry and it makes my skin flake. It also sometimes makes me dehydrated. This is why I got rid of my central heating and air conditioning system and went for a hot water boiler for my heating and got a few window air conditioning units for my cooling. I like it the old school way. And I am actually glad that this old heating and cooling technology is still available today. I know eventually this will no longer be available. But while it is here and as long as I can run it, I will take it and this is how I will heat and cool my home. I made this decision just this past year after having a central heating and air conditioning system for over a decade and a half. I just did not like the heating and also I did not like all the money I had to put out every single year on heating and air conditioning system maintenance. Having a hot water boiler for instance takes no professional maintenance what so ever other than if the hot water boiler were to break down. None of this tune up and check up stuff. The same with the window air conditioning systems.
