Our son wanted to be an HVAC technician.

From the time our son could walk and talk, he said he wanted to be an HVAC technician. For his sixth birthday, my husband bought him a child-sized tool box. They were proper tools, but made for a child’s hand. He helped his dad work on the HVAC system every chance he got. By the time he was 12, he was already changing the air filters in the furnace and air conditioning unit. During his senior year in high school, they had a job fair at the high school, and all juniors and seniors were required to attend. They had a booth with a couple of HVAC technicians there. My son was excited to go to the job fair, hoping there would be HVAC technicians. He said he had a lot of questions about the job. I wished him luck and told him to check out more than just the HVAC display, even though I knew he wouldn’t. When he got home that evening, he was screaming to my husband and me. He said he had put in several applications while at the job fair. He was hoping to have a job during the summer and go to school in the fall. We were both eager to know where he put the applications in to, but he was already running up the steps to his room. My husband was going to knock on his door, but he heard him talking on the phone and figured he could talk to him at dinner. By the time I had dinner ready, he was talking away to his dad. He said he put in applications to both HVAC companies.
