My Son Prefers to Work With his Hands

Our grocery stores and eating establishments need reliable refrigeration replacement and refrigeration and heating/cooling repair

I am the mother of a high school boy and he is now in the eleventh grade and his guidance counselor and father are starting to talk to him about what he is going to do with his life once he walks across that stage at graduation. One thing we have noticed in his school life is that he much prefers to work with his hands than with his head, then well, you absolutely have to use your head as well. He would rather build something or service something than study a book and answer questions. Because of this natural inclination, I am tempted to try to tell my son that he should look into studying a skilled trade. I suppose that skilled workers are in short supply all over the country, and also especially in my state where I live. We need all kinds of skilled workers, for sure, however one thing I am certain we will consistently need are heating and A/C installers and repairmen. If my son decided to go to tech university, which I hope he does, I suppose he would fit best in the heating and cooling program. The local tech university teaches us a program called Heating and A/C – R. That stands for heating and A/C – refrigeration. Not all trade universities teach refrigeration along with their heating and cooling program, however ours just happens to. I suppose this is smart and vital for the great of humanity. Our grocery stores and eating establishments need reliable refrigeration replacement and refrigeration and heating/cooling repair. I do not see any shame in studying how to install and repair air conditioners and heaters. There was a time when all trades were looked down upon, and it was as if the only people who could do those jobs were those who could not do anything else. But those days are gone! Heating and A/C professionals often also have very flexible schedules, which is honestly nice indeed.
