In addition, there are a lot of advantages to working in the heating and cooling industry. For example, you can take a very short course at a tech school, a year or less, and go out and get a job. It would be an entry-level job at an AC company most likely, but you could also continue your education and get more HVAC certifications. After doing that, you could move up the ladder so to speak. In other words, you could work as an HVAC technician and go to school at the same time to be an HVAC technician with higher credentials. In fact, you may even discover that your employer pays for you to take the Advanced Heating and Cooling courses. Some HVAC companies also like to work with grocery stores and other commercial properties and so they like to have someone who also knows Refrigeration.
