The year began with the ending of a one-year relationship when it was clear that we both wanted different things out of life, and then two weeks after the breakup, I found out that I was pregnant. The only good thing about that period was that my event planning business was gaining traction. One night I woke up feeling feverish and went to look for an extra blanket. By morning I was burning up and had abdominal cramps, so I headed to the hospital. I called an HVAC technician to check on the HVAC equipment, just in case. When I got to the hospital, I knew the worst had happened. I had yet to tell my ex-partner we were expecting a child. I became antisocial and a workaholic. The house had too many memories, and I would burst into tears a little too often. Before I moved, I visited an HVAC company. The aim was to consult an expert on different HVAC systems, which made me learn more about heating devices. The HVAC repairman I met recommended a heat pump to help with indoor comfort. I told him I did not have a gas furnace because that was what I previously had. The house I found had one, which made me instantly fall in love with it. I called the heating professional for a heat pump service to confirm everything was fine before moving in. The tech discovered that the heating device needed furnace/heater repair, but it was not significant. He also had to replace the furnace filter before giving it a clean bill of health. The owner and not me would cater for the service costs. With the HVAC maintenance finished, I was sure I would have quality heating.
