My dad was always in the garage trying to fix up something that was broken in the house.
He constantly had projects all over the place.
He had a large wooden work bench on the south side of the garage and another large wooden workbench right next to it. My dad was always sitting at the workbench with the light on, even when there was no on the ground outside and it was 20° inside of the garage. Eventually, my Dad decided to install a radiant heater and I became very interested in heaters at that time. The radiant heater was a really neat machine. I fixed it when it stopped working. I always remember the first heater that my dad bought for the garage and how warm it made the place. I wanted to hang out with him even when it was snowing outside. As an adult, I took up the same hobby as my dad. I like to fix up old heaters and AC units. There is an area in the garage next to my house where I have a workstation set up. I have lots of different parts for old heaters and AC units. I also have a company on speed dial that has any part that you might need. They can find the most obscure piece for an old heater that is 50 years old. I often fix up these heaters and AC units and then I sell them online or at the swap meet. I don’t make a ton of money, but it’s certainly a fun hobby that pays off.
