When I moved into our home, no 1 told me I had to change the air filter. I didn’t even think there was an air filter in the Heating and Air Conditioning system. I didn’t think where the gas furnace was, even if I did think about the air filter. I called our dad and told him the gas furnace wasn’t running properly. There was little heat coming out of the air vents, but the gas furnace was running all the time. She asked me if I was responsible for the Heating and Air Conditioning system, or if the owner of the building took responsibility. I didn’t know, because there was nothing in the lease. I had already looked to see if that was in there, then dad came over to the house, and she was looking at the lease before she asked where the gas furnace was. I didn’t know. She grabbed our lease and called the housing manager. She told her about the gas furnace and said it needed repaired. There was something wrong. She asked if I had changed the air filter. Dad told her there was nothing in the lease about me being responsible for any part of the Heating and Air Conditioning system. I didn’t even think where the gas furnace was. She told dad she would have the building maintenance tech come over and look at the gas furnace. Dad wanted to think if she was an Heating and Air Conditioning worker, and she said no. she told her that if she didn’t call an Heating and Air Conditioning worker, she was going to, then either way, they would pay the bill. She mumbling about me checking the air filter as dad was hanging up.
