When I moved into my home, no a single told myself and others I had to change the air filter.
- I didn’t even think there was an air filter in the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system.
I didn’t think where the gas furnace was, even if I did think about the air filter. I called my dad & told him the gas furnace wasn’t running officially. There was little heat coming out of the air vents, but the gas furnace was running all the time. He asked myself and others if I was responsible for the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system, or if the owner of the building took responsibility. I didn’t know, because there was nothing in the lease. I had already looked to see if that was in there. Dad came over to the house, & he was looking at the lease before he asked where the gas furnace was. I didn’t know. He grabbed my lease & called the housing manager. He told her about the gas furnace & said it needed repaired. There was something wrong. She asked if I had changed the air filter. Dad told her there was nothing in the lease about myself and others being responsible for any area of the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system. I didn’t even think where the gas furnace was. She told dad she would have the building service tech come over & look at the gas furnace. Dad wanted to think if he was an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealer, & she said no. he told her that if she didn’t call an Heating, Ventilation, & A/C dealer, he was going to; Either way, they would spend my money the bill. She mumbling about myself and others checking the air filter as dad was hanging up.
