I have to say, this new Heating and A/C technology actually did make more of an impact on our apartment than I thought was possible.
I’d heard people rave about the smart thermostat for years, but my Mom was even wild about it.
But that was also when it first came out and Mom can be a bit wild about new gadgets. For me, I’ve been burned by things that were the latest trend for like six months. And then 500 bucks later, I’m stuck with an obsolete piece of equipment that ends up taking up space because I can’t ditch it. That’s not a game I like to play. So unlike my Pops, I’m much more interested in second or eighth generation technologies. But I have to disclose that I waited too long when it came to putting in the smart thermostat. My husbandy finally just called the Heating and A/C supplier and had an Heating and A/C worker install a smart thermostat he had obtained. The results were immediate as far as savings. That easily first month, while it was still learning our patterns, my friend and I saved just over 10 percent. After that, it’s been at least 15 percent savings over the previous year month after month, but on top of that, I care about the fact that this Heating and A/C technology simply takes care of the heating and cooling. The smart thermostat particularly has been a big plus for our family. My Mom even came over as soon as he heard that the Heating and A/C professionals had installed a smart thermostat… He was totally jealous because there are more features on the our smart thermostat app than on his, then go figure.
