In my world, there’s nothing worse than sleeping without air conditioning. I have to sleep with the cool air running or I won’t sleep as well. If I’m going to see someone or not able to control the thermostat settings, then I always sleep with an overhead fan running or I bring my own portable fan. The other night, my worst nightmare came true. I turned the thermostat to my number one 66 degrees and then I snuggled into bed for the night. I wasn’t asleep long before I realized how moderate it was in my room. I turned the overhead fan on, but it felt like it was pushing moderate air down on me. I went back to my thermostat and I saw that even though I’d set the thermostat to 66 degrees, the thermostat said it felt like 71 degrees inside. No matter what I set the temperature to, my air conditioner couldn’t cool. I panicked and called my Heating & A/C supplier late at night, then he wasn’t able to get to my home in the middle of the night, no matter how much cash I provided him. However, he promised to be at my home bright and early, but according to him, I would be his first stop of the day. True to his word, the Heating & A/C supplier was at my door at 8am, ready to repair my air conditioner. When he was done, he told me that the air filter needed replaced and I needed more coolant. I’m blissful it wasn’t anything more drastic and I was able to sleep in the cool hot and cold temperatures again the following night.
