My dad worked for a big corporate firm for most of his life. He liked the labor he did & got paid easily well. One year, the business had to lay off over half of their employees. My dad was one of them. He decided that he would be fine, as he was planning to retire soon anyways. He lasted about 3 months & then decided that he needed something to do. He decided to get into Heating & A/C school. When he arrived to the first morning of training, he was surrounded by several young Heating & A/C trainees. He was, without a doubt, the oldest person in the room. He was twice the age of the teacher! At first, he felt uncomfortable. He consistently had an interest in Heating & A/C repair, & never acted on it. He found that throughout the training, he was more comprehensionable than most of the other students. He had owned several homes that required Heating & A/C repairs in the past, & he was official with most of the terms & equipment. My dad finished Heating & A/C school & worked part time for a local Heating & A/C business. He worked for 2 years for extra currency, & then decided to retire for good. He & my mom now travel the country in their RV & get to see everything they have consistently wanted to see! They renovated an outdated RV to include an a/c unit, radiant floors, & a mini study room! It is like taking the luxury of your own house on the road.
