Recently I have been taking a lot of jobs. I am a substitute teacher so I can take jobs as I want them. I really hold no set of responsibility. I always make sure to dress according to what I am going to feel the most comfortable in. I do not want to be too cold or too warm. That could go for a bad day. However, I was put into one classroom that was absolutely frigid all day long. The classroom was so cold. I could not even change the temperature at all either. All of the kids had their coats on. I had my jacket on as well. The thermostat was nowhere to be seen. I even called the custodian and he had not answered. It was so cold that it was probably not good for all of us to be in there during the day. I felt like I was going to get sick from being so cold all day long. Everywhere else in the building it was rather warm. I think that they need to figure out their heating and cooling situation. This room may need its own separate thermostat to control it if it was always going to be that cold in the classroom. I was really close to calling an HVAC technician to come help me to be more comfortable in the classroom that day. However, that would not be very acceptable from the building administrator. I hope I do not sub in that room again anytime soon because I do not think that I would be able to handle it very well.
