This past Springtime, I just wasn’t so comfortable about moving into summer. This was genuinely a change of pace. First, down here it took a year or more than 2 to figure out how to best deal with the heat plus humidity of summer. For sure, it was weird than anything I had ever experienced. It could be quite overwhelming with the level of heat for many straight weeks. But the minute summer, I got a little better at it plus so on. I get peace of mind with HVAC maintenance
For me, there is just nothing worse than dealing with worrisome issues.
- I do my best to put things out of my mind as I can’t control everything.
But, I still find that I worry too much. Oh, I tried to make sure that I’m doing the right things and keeping things in front of me. Whether it’s inside the commercial HVAC of my office or here in my own air conditioning, I prefer to have some sort of assurance the things are running as they should. Each spring, the HVAC technician comes out to do the air conditioning tune up prior to the heat and humidity coming. Not only does this prepare the HVAC equipment for the coming heat and humidity, there is more benefits as well to me personally. It gives me peace of mind that I won’t be caught out because my heat pump dies. I’m all for doing whatever I can to take stressors off my plate. The less there is to worry about, the better off I am.

For sure, spending as much time inside the air conditioning during the pandemic brought our indoor air quality into focus.
My family and I stayed inside the HVAC comfort of our house as much as we possibly could.
My wife and I cleared the guest room and made it home office to work from inside the HVAC of our home. Our entire family did our best be patient with each other as we shared the air conditioning in our house. But we also tried to get out of the house and out of the air conditioning to go for walks or some sort of fun outdoor activity. Each time I came back in the house, I noticed how bad it smelled. We tried different deodorizers and even employed an ionizer. But nothing seemed to work. The deodorizers covered the smell to some degree. And that leaves us with the freshest, best smelling indoor air you can imagine. While this sort of air purifier is more expensive, I don’t have to move it around the house. One minute there is a local business place opening and the next, it’s closing.
Owning a small business by myself, I know that when new signs go up for a new business there may be a failed business in its wake. That is certainly true of a little restaurant that was so good but just couldn’t get the basics right. For sure, good commercial HVAC is just fundamental when opening any restaurant. Unless you are serving food to go or it’s exclusively patio dining, you need good heating and cooling. Not too long ago, I went a different way home once I left the commercial HVAC of the office. And I saw that a little restaurant which had such great promise, had closed its doors. Of course, something else would take its place. But what I did notice was that there was an HVAC professional installing new commercial HVAC. The restaurant that had previously occupied that space did not take my advice when it came to upgrading the HVAC equipment. That’s too bad because I think it cost them. The food there was some of the best I have ever eaten. And that’s really saying something as there are plenty of great places around here for dining. But the food was the strong point as the rest of it just wasn’t up to par. While the servers were pleasant and the service was okay the rest of it just didn’t measure up. The first time I dined there, the commercial HVAC was so overwhelmed that I was sweating before I even got my on track. It’s too bad that something is basic as a good commercial HVAC took that place down.
Had to get real about HVAC utility savings
I’m not sure how we got so lucky to get the worst of winter and summer in this region.
But we do.
Our winters are long, cold and come with lots of snow and ice. Conversely, the summer is hot, humid with no Breeze at all. This makes for a really tough situation. The climate here is such that we hardly even see a traditional spring or fall. It’s like we just go from cold to hot to cold. This means that I have to be on my game when it comes to getting the most out of my HVAC. Dealing with such extreme means that if I don’t make sure that I am being as proactive as possible, the HVAC costs will break our budget. That means I have to do a few things that will ensure that I’m doing all I can to keep the HVAC costs to a minimum. Let’s face it, saving on the HVAC costs, whether winter or summer begins with the thermostat setting. Being disciplined with the HVAC thermostat is probably the most important part of any HVAC strategy. We program our thermostat in order to neither over heat or over cool the house in winter and summer. That’s the biggest part of the battle. Yet, making the house really tight is so important of winter and summer. This keeps the HVAC treated air inside the house and helps the HVAC equipment run at its most efficient. We all do our best to save the money where we can. But I can assure you saving on HVAC utility costs where we live is high on our priority list.
Very happy to have geothermal heat pump
It took me a while but I finally came to terms with the fact that it’s up to each of us to do our part when it comes to the environment.
For the longest time, I just didn’t want to believe that this was necessary.
Consumption had always been shown to be a good thing in my mind. It was the big engine that made things go. Plus, it was just easier. I’d rather sit inside the air conditioning and then let somebody else save the planet. Well, that’s just about as irresponsible as it gets. I think seeing my children have my grandchildren finally drove it home that I needed to do my part when it comes to the Earth. My wife was glad that I finally got there as she was way ahead of me. The first thing we did was to upgrade the HVAC equipment inside our family home so we could sell it. The new residential HVAC made a huge difference as far as our home value and we sold it for a ton. We’re able to get a great deal more profit from the sale of our family home than we expected. It was good because we took that windfall and put it right back into a more sustainable place to live. The house we built is much smaller yet it is perfectly designed for two of us. And we chose a geothermal heat pump for our heating and cooling comfort. The main concern was to have the most sustainable and efficient heating and cooling possible we even considered solar but chose to stay with the geo heat pump instead. I’m glad we did because I love what the geo heat pump provides when it comes to quality heating and air.
It took a group effort to own our HVAC equipment
There’s no other way to describe my feelings when it came to saving for a house.
I was so sick of waiting that I was ready to either give up or find another way.
Well, I found another way to finally own a place that came with good residential HVAC. After more than a decade of saving, I decided to take a more creative and aggressive approach to owning my own. I was sick of the poor heating and cooling in my apartment and was ready for my own HVAC equipment. Myself and two couples who are also in the same boat, decided to pool our money and purchase a house. With our money working together, we were able to get a three story home and we turned into three separate living spaces. Before we did anything, we had a lawyer draw up papers to protect all of our interest. From there, it was about transforming the house into three separate spaces. The biggest issue was getting the HVAC right for all of us. We wanted to go with heating and cooling that would be customized in each living space. The HVAC professionals suggested that we go with ductless heat pumps. So we have a ductless multi split heating and cooling system on every floor. It works out really well as we all have our own thermostats and can I adjust the heating and cooling just the way we want it. It sure feels good to own my own house and have the best quality heating and air money can buy.
