I can not tell you how much I appreciate working as an independent heating plus a/c specialist.

I have been in the heating plus cooling business in general for about 20 years now plus for 15 of those years I have been an independent heating plus a/c specialist.

Being an independent heating plus a/c specialist gives myself and others the freedom to run our heat plus cooling system business the way i wanna run it plus I do not have to answer to anyone. I can price our heating plus a/c lake house services as i’d adore plus I also can decide what minutes plus mornings I wish to be open for business. No punching a clock plus being on someone else’s time demands. This is the way any work career should be in our opinion. But I must say that it was not easy getting to this point. Building your own heating plus a/c business or any business for that matter is a genuinely hard plus detailed task. And it does not constantly work out. I was lucky in this aspect of things. Had this venture not worked out I would have went back to working for some heating plus a/c corporation to keep myself in the heat plus cooling system business. Because no matter how I do it, the heating plus a/c business is our career plus I would not be able to do anything else this late in life. I set our career path back when I went to heating plus cooling college plus graduated. It branded myself and others a heating plus a/c worker for life.

I have been working in the heating plus a/c business as a certified heat plus cooling system specialist, and this year that just passed I have to say was our best year yet in the almost 10 years I have been doing this, but my buyer base just seems to be growing more plus more, but i am constantly tied up with heating plus a/c repairs, heating plus a/c upgrades plus heating plus a/c idea tune up plus check ups… The business never stops from morning to morning.

And this is why I had a definitely wonderful year this past year.

It was not adore this before. I would have a few mornings a week with minimal to no work at all, which was hard on our bank account, but this past year it all finally picked up plus has been working out great. If it ever happens that the business dies down though I am constantly ok because I can just go plus get a task with a single of the local heating plus a/c companies in town. I have several years experience as a certified heating plus cooling specialist so this would not be a concern at all. But hopefully all will remain wonderful as last year plus this year will be either the same or even a better year yet at our independent heating plus a/c business that I work so strenuous at to keep going with the most high quality around. Heating plus a/c is our life plus it constantly will be as long as I live.

I was always having problems with my sewer system backing up, and I wanted it repaired my parents arrived.

I called a plumber who gave me a lot of information about what they would need to do.

They were going to dig up the yard, check the pipes and, if they thought it was necessary, they would replace the pipes. I would then need to have the sewer recovered and the old dirt would be removed. I would need to have some deliver enough topsoil to replace that dirt.. I didn’t want to have a lawn that was covered with dirt heavy with sewage. It was going to be a lot of work, and a lot of expense. I finally found a plumber who was talking about trenchless plumbing. They would put a camera into the pipes that lead to the sewer. With instruments that look like long grabbers, they would remove the sludge and other debris that was making the sewer pipes become clogged. If they saw any cracks in the pipes, they had spray polymer they could spray the inside of the pipes with. This was called a pipe sleeve. Once they made sure the pipe was repaired and the blockage removed, their job would be done. There wasn’t any digging or removal of pipes, and the repair lasted a lot longer. I am so glad I called several plumbers and found this one who knew about trenchless plumbing. The cost was much less than the other plumbers quoted; it was less work, and the pipe sleeve came with a warranty. They finished my sewer repair before my parents arrived for their visit.

I went north when I was a young man.

• Being straight out of college and eager to conquer the world, I took the best job I was offered when I received my degree.

That it meant I would have to leave a climate where the air conditioning is the biggest part of the HVAC deal. But that barely even registered on my radar as I readied to head up north and take on all comers. That bravado lasted about 4 months until I felt the first cold wind of October. At least I had an apartment with radiant heating. It was an older building that had a giant boiler in the basement. It’s still the largest piece of residential HVAC I’ve ever seen. If it hadn’t been for all that radiant heating, I’d never have made it. And who knows what would have happened if I’d given up and tucked my tail between my legs as I beat a path back to the south. Instead, I did my best to acclimate to the winter weather. But it never took. I always felt as though I was trapped inside the HVAC heating month after month after month. Finally, after five years, I was up for a promotion that would take me back south. I got it and I haven’t left since. My winter now has the perfect amount of HVAC heating which is almost none. The heat pump comes on a few times when we get a cold snap. Otherwise, that residential HVAC stays silent in preparation for all the air conditioning it has to do in the summer.

I put it off for several years. Well, actually this is the fifth summer we’ve been down here so the last four summers, I haven’t done a thing to save on HVAC cooling costs. And the main reason is for that was fear. I just didn’t think that I could handle anything but total cooling comfort. Yet, the bills I pay for air conditioning from June through September were weighing on me. One of the motivating factors for our move to the south was to be done with winter. Well, we can check that one off the list. Additionally, we wanted to be free of the high cost of HVAC heating. The gas furnace we had in our home was the latest in residential HVAC. But that thing ran a lot during the winter just to keep the house at all comfortable. And the prices were tough to swallow when I’d get the utility bill for that. We moved and I sort of just flipped those HVAC costs from winter to summer. But I’d much rather be hot than freeze. So this year, I thought that this would be the time to finally get it together to cut the high cost of HVAC cooling. A neighbor, who’s a native of the area, suggested that the best way to deal with the cost of HVAC cooling was to wait to turn it on. Just get accustomed to the heat as the temperatures rise during the spring. I did just that and followed the checklist on the HVAC company website to prep my house for summer. The first bill for summer air conditioning was more than 25 percent less than this time last year.

So we haven’t had all that much luck when it comes to family vacations over the last several years.

Of course, the last two summer we had to opt for a stay at home vacation and then a camping trip the next year. That’s all thanks to Covid of course. And prior to that, we had done our normal beach trip. Still, not all that great. The room was cramped with all of us in there and the HVAC cooling just wasn’t very good. I’m being kind, the air conditioning in that room was the worst. We even packed up and moved rooms after the first night we spent sweating through the sheets. But the next room just wasn’t much better and it was even smaller. So, my wife and I chose to just ignore the fact that the commercial HVAC was junk and focus on the fun stuff and our kids. Of course, the kids could have cared less about HVAC cooling. Ol Dad though, he needs that sweet cooling comfort that comes from a good heat pump. And that’s why I think we’ve found the spot for our vacation going forward. Same beach but this is a vacation rental that has the latest in residential HVAC with all sorts of HVAC technology. That house even has zone controlled HVAC. Not only is the air conditioning maybe the best ever but I even had a thermostat in our room. Dad was so happy during this vacation with all that HVAC cooling comfort. We were due for a great situation after all. And we’ll be booking all that HVAC comfort again next year.

It’s just so hard to believe that I’ve been living in the house for 25 years.

Equally tough to swallow is the fact that I’m in my late 50’s.

I mean, I look in the mirror and it’s me but there is just so much gray and all those crinkles. At least my wife loves me right? When I chose to leave the city and move out here, I had to buy my first house. And I put in the best residential HVAC I could afford at the time. It was such a big deal, me buying a house and then doing a bit of renovating. That was really the only way I could afford the house. But doing those projects with my brother was great. However, we left the heating and cooling to the HVAC professionals. That was pretty much a no brainer since we weren’t about to attempt to replace old HVAC equipment on our own. That would have ended in complete disaster even though we’re both pretty handy and good at home improvement stuff. Our dad was that way and we just followed him around soaking up all the stuff he knew how to do. But like dad, we knew when we would be completely over our head with a project. And the HVAC equipment was definitely the domain of the HVAC professionals. A lot has happened since those days, I met a girl from here and we are married with lots of dogs and cats. And I’m still commuting to the zone controlled HVAC of the office an hour away. Sure enough, I called the same HVAC company to start the process of replacing the heating and cooling equipment as well since it’s been 25 years.

You know, I get really tired of those in my life who just can’t seem to find the joy in any part of life.

It’s getting to the point where I’m thinking that maybe I just limit the time I’m around those people.

But, some of those folks are family and I have to visit them inside the air conditioning of their homes. I do a lot of biting my tongue and focusing on just how pleasant the HVAC cooling is in the house. That’s about all I can do when it’s just one grievance after another. It’s like just a rolling ball of mud that keeps hitting me in the face one after another. And then, I caught myself whining about something that I could totally control. For the last several years, utility costs have gone up and up in our region. And I have done nothing at all to mitigate those costs when it comes to the heating and cooling in my house. Well really, it’s the cooling way more than the heating. Where I live, the heat pump gets time off for good behavior during our ultra mild winter. It might come on a dozen times the whole winter. But the cost of all the air conditioning during our blazing summer can mangle a household budget. So when I caught myself whining about the high cost of air conditioning, I decided to do something instead of just go on and on about it. Interestingly enough, it wasn’t too tough or labor intensive. And I’m saving just over 20 percent on HVAC cooling costs over last year.

So the gym I joined just wasn’t making it any easier on me to stick to my commitment to make my health and fitness more of a priority.

And really, when I would be ending my day inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office, all I wanted to do was get home to my recliner. Yet, I would tell myself that if I could just get to the gym, I wouldn’t be thinking so much about the air conditioning in my house. The fact that the heating and cooling in the gym wasn’t up to par just didn’t help me. I’d get myself to the gym but it would be pretty uncomfortable in there. I don’t know if the commercial HVAC in that building was designed for a gym or not. But the HVAC equipment was clearly overmatched. In the winter, it was cold unless you were right up in front with everyone else on the cardio machines. But in the summer, it’s a cooker in there. The HVAC cooling just didn’t have a chance. As soon as I would walk in, it was as though someone dropped a hot, wet towel on my head. That’s not the way you want to end your day at the gym. I finally hung it up and didn’t renew my membership. Instead, I called the HVAC company and put a gym in my basement. I mean, it’s not a full gym as I’m adding pieces as I find them online for cheap. But the ductless heat pump produces the best quality heating and air of any gym in the county.

I just can’t quite understand why we, as a planet, are completely dragging our feet when it comes to climate change.

And our country, supposedly a world leader in innovation, is one of the worst.

I don’t know if it’s an unwillingness to change or because we’re all accustomed to getting what we want with a mouse click while inside all that HVAC. For sure, we’re soft when it comes to being willing to put the needs of our planet and future generations in front of our immediate wants. There was even a big stink inside the zone controlled HVAC of the office when the company wanted to boost the thermostat in the summer. I mean we aren’t talking about going from a thermostat setting of 71 to 90. It was just a simple change to the thermostat that was like 4 degrees. The company even did the carbon offset math to show the difference just that much makes. Still, you’d a thought the world was ending because the thermostat was going up 3 or 4 degrees. So I don’t hold out a bunch of hope that we’ll get it together. Still, in my personal life, my wife and I try to be sure that we’re living as sustainably as we can. The geothermal heat pump we chose for the heating and cooling of our home is a prime example. The geo heat pump uses the earth’s near constant temperature to extract heating and cooling energy. It’s the most efficient and sustainable HVAC equipment we could get our hands on.
