Man, it’s all I can do to stay up with trying to protect myself lately.

Between the new booster shots and all the inflation, it’s tough to feel comfortable in the new normal. It is a situation that is precarious given that we are all trying to navigate what is still uncharted waters. The pandemic really did add to our troubles in this country. But are others out there who are dealing with much more suffer consequences. I’m just thankful to have a great house with awesome HVAC. Like many people, I’m still working remotely from the HVAC comfort of my home. I’m thinking that I may just do this forever going forward. While I’ve been lucky to keep working, my wife wasn’t as fortunate. For a long time we were down to just my income. So when I found out that I had to get the HVAC repaired, that was an extra kick in the pants. The last thing I needed at that point was $1,000 HVAC repair. Over the last few years we’ve had to dip into our savings just to stay afloat. I’m hoping the situation improves but I’m still conscious of every penny we spend. To that end, I’d even consider trying to find a non licensed repair person to the HVAC repair. A friend of mine hooked me up with a guy that he knew who had once been an HVAC technician supposedly. But of course that gentleman was not about to guarantee the work he would do on my HVAC equipment. It’s just worth the money to make sure that there’s an HVAC professional doing the work when it comes to our heating and cooling.

My little girl is my favorite.

There, I said it.

Of course, I don’t advertise it but that little girl just owns my heart. My baby girl is just so special because she is so up to the challenge. That girl was born early and it had to fight off lots of problems. In fact, we almost didn’t have her very long. There was some long nights inside the HVAC cooling of the hospital just willing her to live. Maybe that’s where the bond started for me. I sat next to her that little incubation box and willed her to just stay with us. I’m glad she chose to live because she’s just the most unique person I’ve ever met. To this day, she still deals with some health issues that are probably related to those very first first few days of life. One thing my baby daughter is super sensitive to you is temperature change. She’s more sensitive to cold than heat. I think this was pretty clear when she started wearing a hoodie during the summer. And we have a very hot and humid summer here. So I tried to figure out what the best thing I could do for her would be. This led me to make an appointment with the HVAC professionals. I wanted my baby girl to be comfortable inside the house when the rest of us needed all that air conditioning. So the HVAC technicians came out to the house to modify our HVAC equipment. We now have zone controlled HVAC in our home. And my youngest has her own thermostat in her room. These days, she’s much more comfortable and that makes me much more comfortable.

When I took a chance on living up north, I was quickly reminded of just how great I had it at home.

I hated the weather and I never could find anyone to do biscuits and gravy just right.

However, the biggest adjustment for me was of course the weather. I really thought that maybe I could deal with the winner after a lifetime full of HVAC cooling. This was something I sort of talked over in my own mind. It would be fun to learn to go skiing and maybe play hockey or something like that. Then go home and enjoy the warmth from the gas furnace. The idea of having a white Christmas in a cozy warm house with HVAC heating was really appealing. Well, having experienced all those things I would say that’s the best part of living up north. The problem for me was that I just couldn’t get my head around the cold enough to enjoy all those fun things about living in the North. There wasn’t a gas furnace big enough to keep me warm. I even had a space heater stashed under my desk at work just to get through the day. And that place had great commercial HVAC. I gave it five years and then took the next transfer back to the home office. Being back in the land of the heat pump has made me happier than ever. I want the sort of winter wear my heat pump hardly have to come on. And if that means going through a tough summer where the HVAC cooling is running all the time I’ll simply be glad to deal with that.

For generations, the men in our family have all been big time hunters. And this goes back a really long ways. But this sort of came to a screeching halt when it came to my generation. I wasn’t the only boy in the family to find hunting not so great. The start, I didn’t like having to leave the comfort of HVAC heating to go hunt. Being up in some tree stand instead of inside where the gas furnace was running was not my idea of a great weekend. However, I did love going out to the hunting lodge. It’s been in our family for many generations. Since the current generation is not all that much into the typical male hunting trips, we made some renovations. I got together with my siblings and my cousin’s in order to figure out what we wanted the future of the hunting lodge to be. It needed some work so I thought that while we were doing that, we would update some comfort areas in the place as well. There is now some good furniture and we updated the kitchen with all the necessary appliances. The wood stove stayed as the primary heating source but we added modern residential HVAC equipment as well. We had an HVAC professional come all the way out to install a series of ductless heat pumps. These provide air conditioning in the summer months which really does make a difference. The hunting lodge is a family treasure. And while there really isn’t any hunting these days, we all love being up there. Having the ductless heat pumps really make all of that so much better.

It’s strange perhaps that I get so much satisfaction from this sort of surprise.

So the fact that I get heating and cooling plus humidity control from the heat pump makes me very, very pleased. I love the fact that the heat pump is such a versatile piece of residential HVAC. Living in an area that experience is more HVAC cooling than heating is ideal when it comes to having a heat pump. Actually, the heat pump was sort of designed for the HVAC cooling job instead of heating. A heat pump is designed to do just what its name suggests. A heat pump works by moving, or pumping heat energy from one place to another. During the summer, the heat pump does this when the HVAC cooling process starts by extracting heat energy and pumping it outside. Then the HVAC equipment replaces that heat energy with cooler air and we have what is considered modern HVAC cooling. Yet, the process of exhausting the heat energy comes with added benefit of balancing the humidity. As the heat pump is removing that heat energy, it’s also taking with it a great deal of moisture. And this is why we enjoy humidity balance inside our homes during the summer. Now when there is a need for heating, we move the thermostat to the heating position. And the heat pump simply reverses the process by extracting heat energy from the outside air and bringing it in. That’s really like a 3 in one value for the heat pump.

There’s just no telling why I’m the way I am.

Somehow, I just showed up to the planet with a want for organization and cleanliness.

If my environment isn’t clean and organized I’m pretty much all to pieces. Cleanliness and order are just simply essential to my happiness. I had a mom that was so not like that. She spent most of her time enjoying red wine while sitting in the air conditioning. The cleaning of the house was up to a maid or somebody else. And we had a series of housekeepers who did the best they could. For me, I always kept my area super clean and organized. The same went for anywhere else I spent time inside our house. I just clean it all up before I could even go in there. Certainly has spilled over to my adult life. I don’t have a housekeeper and I don’t spend the day sipping wine in the HVAC cooling of my house. I normally so busy that I just can’t even spend a few months minutes catching my breath inside the air conditioning of my own. But just like everybody else, I’ve got chores to do. Over the last few years, I noticed that our indoor air just didn’t smell right. And then it just got worse and worse and worse. I tried all the deodorizers I could find, but I finally gave up and went to the HVAC professional. Really though, who better to help with indoor air quality than the HV AC company? They hooked me up with an air purifier. But it’s not one of those that you have to move around the house. Being a first time homeowner was just so exciting for me.

• After all the apartments, I was ready to have my own place and my own HVAC equipment.

But this also came with it a big learning curve just like everything else. It was just so much to learn. When things like my HVAC equipment needed service, it was up to me. So this year, I’m on top of getting the house already for the winter. I replaced storm door along with weather stripping around all the entrances. I also added insulation to the attic and call up every gap and crack on the exterior of the house. This winter is going to be much warmer inside and I’m definitely going to save big on HVAC heating cost.

Its’ so nice to be done with summer again. This is the time of year when I can walk out of my home and not hear a heat pump droning on and on. The heat and humidity of summer is intense in this area and there is simply no denying that fact. However, I have a strategy that helps me deal with the heat and save money on the air-conditioning. There was just no way to be able to manage the heat of summer in this region without a HVAC cooling. It’s simply essential to have good residential HVAC equipment or you’re going to be behind from the beginning. Plus, it’s so important to get the air conditioning tune up in the spring. This sort of HVAC maintenance ensures that the heat pump is ready for the demand and is operating at peak efficiency. It’s also important to really seal up the house so the HVAC equipment is working at its most efficient. Generally, I not only find what I need but I find it at a very good price. Who needs to leave the air conditioning of home to fight all those crowds and pay more in the store? Online shopping has certainly spoiled me. See when the HVAC professional told us that we needed to have an HVAC unit repaired, my first instinct was to search online. My wife and I belonged to an HVAC Service Plan offered by our local HVAC company. It’s for sure a great deal. They make the appointments for the heating maintenance and air conditioning tune-ups via email. All I have to do is then confirm online. Additionally, if something goes wrong with the HVAC equipment, all I have to do is pay for the parts. The HVAC company takes care of the HVAC service charge. When the HVAC technicians came out to do the heating maintenance was when we found out about the repair. My default reaction was to go online to see if I could get it done cheaper. That was sort of stupid given how great the HVAC service plan really is. For sure, you want to have a professional take care of any sort of HVAC situation. And with the HVAC service plan, there really isn’t a better deal out there. I know because I shopped it online.

Being traditional has sort of been a default behavior for me.

That means changing up direction on anything can be a big challenge.

However, sometimes doing something a bit different is the only way to do it. It can also be the smart thing to do as well. And when I went a different direction with a recent HVAC equipment upgrade, I got the best and the smartest heating and cooling results. The HVAC professional gave us plenty of advance warning when it came to the old HVAC unit. HVAC technician made us aware that we could expect to see the heat pump start to work less efficiently and cost more to operate. So when the big spikes came with the heating and cooling costs, this was the sign the HVAC unit was failing. So we got under way with the HVAC upgrades pretty quickly. It’s a good thing we did because the HVAC professional doing the inspection found something we didn’t realize was a problem. That would be the ductwork. The ductwork in our home was not going to work any longer. It was just too old, not put together properly and wouldn’t work. However all the chaos that would ensue by removing and replacing the ductwork was not appealing at all. This is what made using a ductless multi split system such an easy decision. With the ductless multi split heating and cooling system, we can customize the quality heating and air in our home as well. While it’s different than the traditional residential HVAC perhaps, I feel like ductless HVAC was a major upgrade for our home.
