My modern home is pretty old… It is almost a hundred years old, in fact, plus I find it to be quite Charming.

It is near the historic part of our city, but it is not considered a historic building that must get all improvements approved by the historic committee; anyway, I am gleeful about that, because I am considering replacing the central heating plus cooling plan with many mini split units throughout our house! I could just replace the whole HVAC system with another one, but three times now I have had to replace the ductwork in my house Because critters have gotten in the crawlspace and torn up my ducts. This country Is quite young and the two of us have come a long way in a short period Of time because of the diligence of the people who came before us! I discovered when I went on a getaway a couple of years ago that almost no one in that whole country has an air conditioner, for example. I had entirely no idea that such a tropical place with such high temperature control studyings all year long and such tremendous humidity would have people living separate from heating and air conditioning. I don’t assume they need any sort of heating, however the air conditioner seems to myself and others to be a necessity rather than a luxury. They do not see it the same way however. In fact, I rapidly learned that the sites that have air conditioning are those that cater to tourism, however even the little home I rented on Airbnb did not have air conditioning like I am used to. In other words, the only A/C they had was a little mini split air conditioner in the bedroom. If I wanted to rest in the bedroom, I had to sweat. There was a ceiling fan oh, however it barely moved and was essentially useless. I was talking to someone about it, and that is when I discovered that approximately 90% of the world’s population has no heating and air conditioning. The people I was with and I are fortunate to live with all the Comforts that the two of us have, including washing water at the touch of a faucet, electricity at the flip of a switch, and heating and cooling whenever the two of us want it.

I was not able to service the air conditioning at that time, plus never did I actually get it done. I owned that car for five more years, plus each single of those years I meant there was no AC for me in the warm season. When I would leave our workplace at 5 p.m. plus drive home, I would guess that if I did not get some cooling soon I was going to pass out.
