Air Conditioning Price Updates

My dad is one of those people who can fix just about anything.

I can remember things breaking around the house when I was a child, and my dad fixed every one of them. We never called a plumber, electrician, or HVAC technician. My dad was skilled enough to fix just about anything that broke in our house. I always wanted to be like my dad in that way, but unfortunately, I did not turn out to be such a handyman. I used to watch him fix things for hours upon hours, but I cannot seem to fix things as easily as he can. He makes everything look easy which gave me a false sense of hope. The furnace in our house stopped working about a week ago, and I was determined to fix it myself. I had watched my dad fix furnaces many times, so I thought that I knew what I was doing. Surprisingly, I was able to diagnose the problem correctly thanks to the internet, but I could not get a certain piece of the furnace apart that needed repairing. I tried to fix it for several days before giving up and calling my dad for help. Thankfully, it was not cold enough outside yet to freeze any of my pipes; otherwise, I would have been in big trouble for being so prideful. My dad came over the very next day, and he showed me exactly house to take about the piece of the furnace that needed to be repaired. It was much easier than I thought, and now, we have a working furnace again. I am so thankful for such a great dad.

My poor kids have learned the hard way to listen to me.

My husband and I both have told our children several times not to rough house in the living room area, but every once in awhile they do.

Usually, I just remind them of the rules, and they find somewhere else to play, but this time I was in the kitchen cooking dinner while all three of my kids were in the living room wrestling over something. I did not realize what they were doing until about ten minutes later when I heard a loud crash. Supposedly, my youngest son had pushed my oldest son very hard and caused him to fall backwards into our air conditioner. The air conditioner then fell out the window. There is a porch right under where the air conditioner was, so it did not fall very far, but it did break the air conditioner. I was very upset with them, but I knew that they would learn their lesson when we did not have air conditioning for awhile. It gets to be about eighty degrees in our house during the day now, and my kids are used to having it around sixty-five degrees, so they are miserable. They have definitely learned their lesson, and they are working hard to earn some money to help replace the air conditioner that they broke. They had individually come to me and told me that they are so sorry for wrestling in the living room even when they knew that they should not have been. I love them so much, and I know that we will be getting another air conditioner soon.

I feel like if something can go wrong in my life, it will.

Not only do things go wrong for me all of the time, but they also go wrong at possibly the worst times.

I had one of those days last week where it seemed like just about everything went wrong at once. We were having our pastor’s family over for dinner that evening, and I was a little stressed out about it. I get stressed out whenever I have people over because I am always worried about the food not turning out the way that I want it to. I was planning on having stuffed shells, but I forgot to buy cheese, and I did not realize it until about an hour before I needed to start dinner. I decided to just make spaghetti instead, and it ended up turning out okay but not as good as usual. Not only did I have food issues that day, but our air conditioning system decided to stop working. To this day, we have no idea why it stopped working. We had never had any troubles with our air conditioning, and no one had messed with any settings on it. The very next day, the air conditioning was back on and running just fine. It has not acted up since either. It made for a pretty miserable meal. I would have made a cold meal if I would have realized that it would be so hot that night. We ended up eating our spaghetti outside on the patio even though it was over eighty degrees out there. It felt much nicer than being in the stuffy house. I hope they enjoyed themselves because I certainly did not.

I have been trying to save as much money as possible for the past couple of years, and I have cut out some pretty crazy things. I stopped using a washer and dryer as well as air conditioning to try and help save as much money as possible on my electric bill. I sold like seventy percent of the things in my house. I am doing it all to try and save up enough money to start building my dream house. My friends think that I am crazy for getting rid of so many things, but I would rather start from scratch anyways. I have about half of the money that I need saved up, and I think I will be able to get the second half of the money much quicker than I got the first. I actually had to start using air conditioning again because of some health issues. It got so hot in my house that I actually had a heat stroke. I could not believe it. I know that people all over the world live without air conditioning in very hot climates, but I guess my body was not ready for such a drastic change. I am going to try to slowly lean myself off of the air conditioning this time. We will see what happens. It has cooled down a little bit here, and soon winter will be upon us. Of course, it is still in the sixties during the winter months, but that is much more manageable than one hundred degrees. I will definitely be more careful this time so that I do not cause myself to have a heat stroke again.

Well while I was trying to adjust it just a bit, I lost grip and dropped it out the window

I think that we all have had embarrassing moments in our lifetimes. I have had many, and they seem to get worse the older that I get. A few years ago, I walked out of the restroom with my skirt tucked up in my slip. I did not even know about it for almost fifteen minutes. A friend came up to me and let me know while I was in the middle of a crowd of over two hundred people. I had another one of those embarrassing moments two days ago. My husband had bought me a brand new air conditioner, and I was so excited to use it. He told me that I should probably wait to install it until he got home so that he could help me. I was determined that I did not need any help. I am only four foot eleven, and I only weight about eighty-five pounds, so I should have listened to my husband’s advice. I could hardly lift the air conditioner off the ground, but I was determined to get it installed all by myself before my husband got home from work. I somehow managed to carry the thing upstairs to our bedroom. It took me almost fifteen minutes just to get it out of the box. I placed it in the window after quite a bit of struggling. I was so proud of myself. All I had to do was adjust it a bit and seal it off. Well while I was trying to adjust it just a bit, I lost grip and dropped it out the window. I was so embarrassed that I did not even want to tell my husband, but of course, he would have found out anyways.

Becoming a mom was both the best and hardest thing that I have ever done. I cannot believe how difficult it is to just clean the house while having three little ones running around. I love my children so much, and I would not trade my job for the world, but that does not mean it is easy. Before I had our first baby, I was determined to keep the house clean no matter how many children I would have. It is so much easier said than done. It is difficult to find the time to clean. It seems like the day is taken up by just feeding my kids and keeping them from injuring themselves. There are so many things that have been neglected for the past couple of years, so I made a list of all of them so that I could at least try to accomplish them slowly. One of the first things that I put on the list was to clean out the HVAC vents in our house. I have seen my children throw food and toys down in the vents, and I have literally never cleaned them. I decided to finally clean them yesterday, and let me tell you, they were so gross. I cannot believe that our house did not stink because I found so much rotten food. I found cheese, crackers, grapes, and all sorts of other foods that I could not even identify. In one vent in my living room, I found three shoes. They had been missing for well over a year. After seeing that, I am determined to clean out the HVAC vents more often. I put them on my monthly cleaning lists in hopes that they will get done at least a few times a year.

I love my job.

Well, I love it most of the year.

I work for a landscaping business, and I love being able to spend most of my days outside. I actually started working for this company when I was only sixteen. They pay pretty well, and I really enjoy my job which makes a huge difference. I have friends who absolutely dread going to work everyday, and I feel really bad for them. I have learned so much through doing landscaping, and I have been able to be of help to others who could not afford to hire a company to help them. During the winter months, we actually do mostly plowing and shoveling snow for our customers. When I first started working there, I did not believe that we would be able to get enough work for all of us during the winter months, but that is far from the case. We get a lot of snow here, and it keeps us quite busy. I have decided that my furnace is my best friend during the wintertime. I cannot even begin to explain how amazing it feels to come home to a warm house after being outside in a blizzard all day. This happened to me and a friend just yesterday. We worked for about twelve hours outside trying to help our customers in a terrible blizzard. It was quite intense. The only thing that kept us going was dreaming of a nice warm house to go home to. It was a long day, but it eventually ended, and we came home to a warm house and just collapsed. I literally slept on the living room floor the entire night right in front of an HVAC vent. It was wonderful.

My whole life I had told myself that I would never live in an apartment.

I have no idea why I did not want to live in an apartment.

I had friends who lived in apartments when I was younger, and I always went over to their houses’ to play without even thinking about the fact that they lived in apartments. My parents did talk bad about their early years of marriage when they lived in a couple of different apartments, so maybe that is why I never wanted to live in one. Well I moved out of my parents house as soon as I graduated college, and I moved into an apartment. I have not had a very good experience so far. The furnace in the apartment does not do a very good job of keeping the place warm, especially my bedroom. I told my landlord about the problem, but he just commented that none of his other tenants had complained about any heating issues. I decided to just buy two space heaters to help keep my apartment at about seventy degrees. I put one in my bedroom, and I put the other in the living room. They do help warm up those areas for sure, but I am always nervous about using them because I have heard so many horror stories about space heaters catching houses on fire. I have another reason to be worried about having space heaters now, and that is tripping over their cords. I tripped over the cord of the space heater in my bedroom, and I ended up breaking my arm. It was quite the experience. Needless to say, I hope to move out of my apartment as soon as possible.

I literally had a dream about having A/C last night.

I cannot even express how gleeful I am to transport into our current house. I absolutely cherish where my friend and I live now, but I know that is only for passionate reasons. The home my friend and I are in now absolutely is not all that great. It is over one hundred years old, as well as it has a lot of complications. We don’t own any land right now which also stinks, but our current home is much newer as well as greater. It also sits on almost three acres of land, as well as I am so gleeful to transport in. I know my number one part of our current home is the fact that it has A/C. I know that may sound funny to some people, but my friend and I have never had A/C in our house. The home is so aged that my friend and I are afraid to run something like an a/c in it. We just absolutely aren’t sure that the wiring in our home could handle that much power going to one locale. It has been quite irritated during the Summer months in this house. It gets entirely warm, especially upstairs. I wish that my friend and I could transport even sooner, but I am willing to wait if it means my friend and I get a nice home with A/C. I literally had a dream about having A/C last night. I know, it is sort of absurd how much I want A/C, but I just can’t help it. I have wanted A/C for so long, as well as now, my friend and I are finally moving into a home with A/C. It is going to be a pressing adjustment for sure, but I can’t wait.

I used to use my space heating system every single afternoon 24/7.

It was like my best friend.

I cherish being nice as well as hot wherever I went, so I took my space heating system all throughout the home with me. It is quite cold for most of the year where I am living, so having a space heating system was absolutely nice. I used my space heating system up until last month. My little boy, Sam, is now six months old, as well as he gets around a bit more than he used to. He still is not quite crawling yet, but he is doing pretty well, finding ways to scoot across the floor. Well, I had my space heating system on in the kitchen just like I usually do, as well as somehow little Sam got all the way to the space heating system on the opposite side of the room within just a minute or so. I literally turned my back for just a minute or so to scrub something, as well as next thing I knew, Sam was screaming. He touched the space heating system as well as burnt his little hand. I haven’t used a space heating system since that afternoon. I know that it was my fault, as well as I am so aggravated with myself about it. I don’t know that I will ever use my space heating system again. I am way too paranoid about it now. Thankfully, the space heating system doesn’t get entirely hot, so it did not even leave a mark on his hand, but I still feel so terrible about it, but no more space boilers for this momma.
