It might be the longest heat and AC unit in history

Sherry has had the same central heat and AC unit for almost 27 years. That is way longer than a central heat and AC unit unit is supposed to last. And would think that there’s not one sign of the heat and AC unit dying on her? Sherry is totally shocked by this and so is her independent HVAC contractor that does all the work on the heating and cooling system for her. Every single time she comes around to do a heat and AC tune up and check up she can’t help but be amazed when she thinks about the fact of how old this central heat and AC unit is. A heat and AC system this old should either be finished or holding on for dear life. None of the above applies when it comes to Sherry’s central heat and AC unit. The heat and AC contractor thinks it is because she kept up on all of her heat and AC maintenance over the years. In addition, the Heating, Ventilation and A/C brand that her central heat and AC system happened to be one of the best around 27 years ago when she first purchased it. They just don’t make them like back in the day. And this proves it! And hey, who knows, perhaps her central heat and AC unit will end up in the book of world records as the longest lasting heat and AC unit in history!

He delights in having his own heating and cooling

Waking up in his new bedroom is almost like being on a trip. My brother has a coffee pot right in his new space that he sets every night. So, he always wakes up to the smell of freshly brewed java and sunshine streaming through the new window of his room. Without getting out of bed, my brother can adjust the ductless heat pump to give him the exact quality heating and air he needs depending on the season. Yesterday was hot and charming so my brother was able to take his coffee out on his private deck. That would be the deck that sits just beyond the french doors. Seriously, my brother did something fantastic with this new addition. Actually, it was an answer that he had to come up with to keep his kids from killing each other. The brother and sister had been sharing a room since they were babies. They are only two years apart and my brother had hoped they’d be able to continue to share a room inside the central air conditioning of the house. That failed miserably and it was clear that they had to have more space. There was no way he was buying a bigger home with the prices out there. So the only thing that truly made any sense was to add onto his existing home. Thank goodness my brother made the right call. Not only are the kids now happily in their own kitchen but they have their own space and heating and cooling. Since the Heating, Ventilation and A/C equipment couldn’t handle this much air volume, my brother opted to go with a ductless heat pump in his new bedroom. It’s simply awesome and he delights having his own heating and cooling. It truly does feel sort of like a trip.

The heating and AC unit had different cool heating and cooling technology

Frankly, we were resistant from the start when it came to selling our cabin. We just didn’t want to give it up and that’s the simple truth. We aren’t not much into change. We like to get up early, adjust the control unit and take a shower. Then, we like to get ready for work and drive to the office. We do our thing inside the commercial Heating, Ventilation and A/C of the office all day and then it’s back home for dinner, relax for half an hour and then hit the sack. We have enjoyed repeating that routine over and over again in the decades that we lived in that cabin. But we knew our housemate was right about selling the cabin. For one, the chances of their being this big a real estate market again in the next ten years was doubtful. And we had viewed our cabin as the largest of our investments. So this was the payoff and we needed to act. We got on board, however we were moving at a snail’s pace the whole way. Like when the realtor came up with this list of improvements. Replacing the Heating, Ventilation and A/C equipment and putting in new home appliances were going to be cost outlays that we weren’t prepared to make. We pushed back and we put the home on the market as it was. It sat there and the only offers we received were well below market value and our asking price. So we called the Heating, Ventilation and A/C specialists to have them help us out of this mess we put us in. They did install just the best in residential Heating, Ventilation and A/C that came with different cool Heating, Ventilation and A/C technology. We had an offer above the asking price within weeks after making those improvements.

We now have a control unit right inside our office

If the pandemic taught us anything it’s that we can survive and work from home inside the central air conditioning of the lake house. Actually, it’s great as that’s where we are working now. Each morning, we rise well before dawn to start our day here inside the lake house. We can get an early start while the only thing we can hear is the heat pump kicking on. Once our son is up, we get him ready, feed him and hurry him off to kindergarten. At that point, we are able to have another cup of tea and start making the calls and doing the online meetings that we have planned for the morning. Nowadays, we’ve taken the skills we honed from all those years inside the commercial Heating, Ventilation and A/C of a corporate office and are doing work for ourselves. That’s the other thing that the pandemic did for us. It helped us be confident enough to finally take a chance on ourselves. The garage pretty much sat perpetually empty so we took it over and cleared it out. Now, it’s the office that we’ve wanted with everything that we need to do our job. The Heating, Ventilation and A/C worker helped us out as well when it came to making our new home office just perfect. He managed to add zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C to our lake house so we now have a control unit right inside our home office. This is fantastic because it allows us to work in the sort of air conditioning we want without making the whole home have to adjust to us. The zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C truly was the cherry on top when it came to launching our business and working from our own air conditioning.

We both worked within the air conditioning of our bungalow

We had the right answer all along.

It’s just that we couldn’t see it.

But when we did, it was a sweet relief. Like thousands of families across the globe, we opted to lower our expenses when the pandemic was raging. We got sent home from the zone controlled Heating, Ventilation and A/C of the office to work from home. And that came with no bonuses and a pay cut for like 17 months. Yet, we were still able to work inside the air conditioning of our home that first Summer. We were lucky as our other partner lost her job completely. That’s when the panic nearly got the best of us. Her paycheck was just about half of our income and it was now hastily gone. The bungalow we own together comes with a mortgage that was right at the edge of our finances. And now the unthinkable had happened. It’s not like she could just apply and find work because nobody was hiring. My wife was able to get some gig work online and work alongside me inside the central air conditioning. But that didn’t come close to helping us make ends meet. We thought we were going to have to sell the house. When the answer came, it was like an aha moment for both of us. The basement was finished and had its own entrance and a powder room with a shower. All we had to do was have the Heating, Ventilation and A/C professional come out and add a ductless heat pump down there and we could rent it out. That ductless heat pump might have saved our home.

He gave them the number of his Heating & A/C technician

He told them that any further messing with the heat pump should only be done by an Heating, Ventilation and A/C tech

It’s just so odd for Glenn being a homeowner and living in a neighborhood. It’s so much more than the cute image he’s had in his head much of his adult life. Glenn grew up inside home highrises inside the city. These were big buildings with boilers in the basement the size of massive battle tanks. Glenn can still remember the radiant heating from the radiators in their apartment. These were the best heating systems he’s ever experienced. Today, Glenn lives further south where the heat pump takes care of both his heating and cooling needs. He’s 55 and this is his first time ever being a friend where there was a fence and a yard involved. Glenn cherishes this much more than sharing walls with his neighbors. It makes it joyful to want to help out when you can. The friends next door to him are a young couple who are just starting out. They are wonderful and eager to learn the finer parts about being a productive adult. Glenn admires that in people because he’s still doing the same thing. When you have some few years on you, there are things you know. When they texted Glenn about an Heating, Ventilation and A/C complication they were having, he went over to see if he could be helpful. They evaluated the fuse and the breaker. The control unit was responding to commands but nothing from the heating and cooling equipment. At that point, Glenn provided the young couple with a number of his Heating, Ventilation and A/C technician. He told them that any further messing with the heat pump should only be done by an Heating, Ventilation and A/C tech. You don’t want to void an Heating, Ventilation and A/C warranty. That’s one of those things he’s learned along the way.

HVAC service plan was a no brainer

I almost missed out on one of the better deals a homeowner around here can get.

But I tend to immediately tune out people who are trying to get me to spend money on something else.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been standing in line inside the commercial HVAC of some business with somebody trying to upsell me. It’s near constant really. And it’s not like I can blast the person doing it because they’re doing as instructed. So I guess I just developed a sort of default tune out as soon as a salesperson starts talking upsell. That’s just what happened a few months ago when I called our local HVAC company. When I actually remember, I call in the Spring to get the air conditioning tune up done on the heat pump prior to Summer. It gets wicked hot and humid around here so going into the Summer with a maintained heat pump is optimal. After I made the appointment for the HVAC maintenance, the lady on the other end asked me if I’d heard about the HVAC service plan. Of course, I tried to move on and get off the phone, it’s a good thing that I listened instead. It was clear that this lady wasn’t trying to sell me something as much as she was trying to help me out. She explained that as part of the HVAC service plan, I don’t have to remember to call for HVAC maintenance. On top of that, if I encountered any sort of heating and cooling repair while a part of the HVAC service plan, all I had to pay for was parts. I mean, this was a no brainer for sure. I actually signed up for the HVAC service plan on the spot.

heating and cooling equipment

Why can’t we see the HVAC equipment?

According to a rule laid about by the HOA in our planned community, homeowners need to keep the HVAC equipment from view. All residential HVAC has to be screened from street level view or be in the back of a fenced in yard. Why? This is what I’ve been asking myself for the past couple of months as I try to help my neighbor deal with an obstinate HOA board. I just can’t seem to get an answer as to why our heating and cooling equipment has to be hidden from view. I mean, we live in the south so it’s no secret that we all rely on air conditioning. And while our Winter weather is quite mild, some heating from the heat pump sure does come in handy at times. But this HVAC equipment has to be hidden from view and I’m stumped. My neighbors are older and they use a lawn service to take care of their property. It’s usually quite lovely but this Spring, the lawn crew cut back a privacy hedge that was screening the HVAC equipment. And they cut it back a bit too short. It didn’t take 24 hours before these poor folks were being threatened with fines from the HOA. That was almost two months ago and the issue is almost moot now that the hedge has new growth. But instead of being logical or reasonable, the HOA wants to force these people to pay. And as a lawyer, that makes me crazy. I told my neighbors not to pay a dime and that I’d be their advocate. There is a public HOA meeting next week and those HOA board members are going to get an earful.
